Access to reliable energy underpins modern life, from heating homes and powering data centers to running hospitals. Range Resources focuses on producing natural gas efficiently, responsibly, and in a community minded way.
Through engineering innovation and long-term planning, the company delivers affordable, dependable energy, while supporting economic growth and their strong commitment to environmental and social responsibility.

“What really makes Range unique is how we incrementally improve and challenge ourselves, whether it’s operationally, technically, or how we think about giving back,” says Dennis Degner, Range Resources CEO and President.
Headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, Range is a leading independent natural gas and natural gas liquids producer focused in the Appalachian Basin. Range pioneered the Marcellus Shale more than 20 years ago, unlocking one of the world’s largest energy natural gas fields. Its operations center on advanced drilling techniques that unlock gas from shale formations deep underground – an industry that has helped transform the US energy supply over the past two decades.
Range’s engineering teams design wells and facilities to maximize output while minimizing surface impact. Multiple wells can be drilled from a single location, reducing land disturbance and truck traffic. Range pioneered large-scale water recycling in Pennsylvania reducing freshwater demand.
As part of its commitment to leading environmental practices, the company put in place direct emissions-reductions programs and used verified carbon offsets to achieve net zero Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions for 2024 and expects to maintain that achievement.

Range also invests in local infrastructure, education programs, and environmental restoration projects, demonstrating how energy production can coexist with community well-being and long-term regional development.
Natural gas plays a significant role in expanding access to affordable, reliable energy, as a lower-carbon alternative to coal for electricity generation. Range Resources’ strategy is aligned with SDG 7 by focusing on operational efficiency, methane emissions reduction, and safety. Advanced monitoring systems detect leaks early, while improved processes reduce environmental impact.
Affordable energy is not a luxury, it’s an essential. “The ultimate goal is to provide the cleanest, low-cost, abundant fuel source for energy generation to the general population on an annual basis,” says Degner.
Range invested $1.2 million into local communities, including $213,500 to first responders through its Good Neighbors Fund, while its employees volunteered over 3,100 hours in support of community organizations, and paid more than $5 billion in royalty and lease payments in Pennsylvania since pioneering the Marcellus.
