Event Overview
As part of the celebrations for World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development, under the theme “Smart engineering for a sustainable future through innovation and digitalization”, FEUP is promoting a series of initiatives aimed at the academic community, reinforcing the institutional commitment to sustainability, innovation and the training of engineers prepared to respond to global challenges.
The program takes place on March 4th and 18th, integrating a round table, lectures, workshops, interactive activities.
📅 March 4th
🌍 Carbon Footprint Game
Interactive activity that challenges participants to test and deepen their knowledge about emissions, environmental impact, and sustainable choices.
Prize: FNAC voucher worth €50 for the highest-ranked participant.
♻️ Upcycling Workshop
Practical activity focused on the valorization of materials and the promotion of Circular economy models.
🎤 Panel | Moving the Future: Conversations on Sustainable Mobility
Format: Online, here!
Time: 3 PM
Panel discussion featuring professors Álvaro Costa and Cecília Silva, dedicated to sustainable mobility, promoting reflection on more efficient and low-carbon mobility solutions in higher education.
🧪 Workshop on Bioplastics
Facilitated by Prof. Joana Loureiro, this workshop addresses sustainable alternatives to conventional plastics, exploring innovative materials and solutions based on the bioeconomy.
🏢 Questionnaire
A consultation initiative aimed at companies, with the goal of identifying the main challenges faced in the field of sustainability and strengthening the connection between academia and the business community.
📢 Education for Sustainable Development at FEUP (EDS@FEUP Project)
Within the scope of the EDS@FEUP project, some initiatives and results achieved will be disseminated through FEUP’s digital monitors, reinforcing the integration of Education for Sustainable Development within the institution.
