ECO BEADa aims to address the growing crisis faced by farmers in the Philippines due to water contamination from untreated wastewater. By utilizing innovative technology, the team have developed phosphate-absorbing beads to purify the wastewater, hoping to revitalize the soil and improve agricultural sustainability.
The solution uses two natural, abundant materials, Eelgrass and Kaolinite clay, to create the beads. These beads reduce environmental contamination and recycle phosphates into eco-friendly fertilizers for farmers. The initiative promotes cleaner ecosystems, sustainable farming, and resilience to climate change. Through community-based water treatment systems and education, the project empowers farmers and ensures a sustainable, cost-effective agricultural future.
