3rd Place: Smart Irrigation Monitoring System (SIMS)

by Team Torpedo

Aiming to support farmers facing climate-related issues, Team Torpedo have designed the low-cost, solar-powered Smart Irrigation Monitoring System (SIMS). Designed for small-scale farmers, SIMS helps optimize water usage, adapt to climate variability, and protect crops. The system uses soil moisture sensors, powered by solar energy, to collect data and send SMS alerts to farmers, even in rural areas without internet access. With AI integration, SIMS predicts irrigation needs, improves yields, and reduces water waste. The project supports the UN’s sustainable development goals by promoting affordable energy, economic growth, and environmental sustainability, empowering farmers to overcome climate challenges.
