Description

As part of the World Engineering Day (WED) celebrations, The Institution of Engineers, Singapore (IES) and Singapore Polytechnic have partnered for the third consecutive year to organise the Charles Rudd Distinguished Lectures series.

Held annually, the Charles Rudd Distinguished Lecture Series is a key initiative of IES designed to promote a greater appreciation of engineering.

Building on the success of last year’s inaugural Charles Rudd Distinguished Global Lectures (CRDGL), WED 2025: CRDGL aims to unite leading experts, innovators and thought leaders from the global engineering community. The event will serve as a platform to share insights, explore emerging technologies and address engineering challenges shaping our future.

Focusing on the theme ‘Towards a Sustainable World: Engineering the Way Forward’, WED 2025: CRDGL will spotlight two key areas: Circular Economy and Resilient Future. This theme underscores the critical role of engineering in advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs?" href="https://worldengineeringday.net/what-are-the-17-sdgs/" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c="6">SDGs?" href="https://worldengineeringday.net/what-are-the-17-sdgs/" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c="6">SDGs).

Highlights of WED 2025: CRDGL will be recorded and broadcast globally to celebrate engineering achievements in support of WED 2025’s goal of ‘Shaping Sustainable Future through Engineering’.

Featuring a two-hour hybrid lecture on 11 February 2025, the event is expected to attract more than 1,000 local and overseas participants.
