Join us in Addis Ababa as Ethiopia celebrates World Engineering Day 2025 with a dynamic in-person event focusing on engineering solutions that drive sustainable development. Hosted by the Ethiopian Association of Civil Engineers (EACE) in collaboration with the Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation (ECC), this event brings together engineers, project managers, policymakers, and young professionals to explore how engineering innovations can shape a sustainable future in Ethiopia.
This year’s theme, "Shaping a Sustainable Future Through Engineering," will highlight how engineering contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a special focus on:
• WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) projects that improve health and livelihoods.
• Earthquake engineering solutions for resilient infrastructure in Ethiopia’s seismically active regions.
• Renewable energy innovations addressing rural electrification and climate resilience.
A unique feature of the event is its commitment to promoting women in STEM. In line with SDG 5 (Gender Equality), we will spotlight the achievements of experienced Ethiopian women engineers and project managers who are leading transformative projects across the country. UNOPS Ethiopia will also feature prominently, showcasing infrastructure projects where women professionals play a central role, sharing insights on sustainability, leadership, and engineering excellence.
